The annual meeting of the APS Potomac Division will be held March 26-28, 2008 at the Lakeview Inn and Conference Center in Morgantown, WV. More information regarding the venue can be obtained at http://www.lakeviewresort.com/. Topics for the meeting will include outstanding research programs in the Potomac Division, organic farming in the 21st century, molecular plant-microbe interactions, and the traditional
graduate student paper competition.

The Potomac Division will send few hard-copy mailings. If you are not sure whether we have your correct email address, send a note to Secretary-Treasurer David Schmale (dschmale followed by @vt.edu)

The 2007 meeting was held March 21-23, 2007, in Blacksburg, VA, The Inn at Virginia Tech

• Graduate student research awards (paper presentation): First place went to S.C. Marine (Virginia Tech). second place to M.J. Schall, Pennsylvania State University
• Elections: Kate Everts is our Division Councilor-elect, and David Schmale will be the new Secretary-Treasurer
• The Memorial Fund Travel Award went to Jianjun Feng, Ft Detrick
• Division Distinguished Service Awards were presented to Bob Mulrooney and Bill Bruckart (citations)
