About Us
A Little Information About Us…

We are a group of research scientists who develop effective strategies for characterizing, stabilizing, and subsequently revegetating lands disturbed by mining, road-building, urban disturbance, and waste disposal activities. One of our major activities is to study wildflowers and native grasses, and develop methods for their successful establishment along Virginia's highways. Much of this work is done on contract with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), for over nine years.

We work for the Department of Crop, Soil and Environmental Science at Virginia Tech. Jody, a Research Associate, has extensive experience in herbaceous plant propagation and management, in roadside turf management, plant growth regulation, tissue culture and garden design. Others in our group, professors, research associates and technicians specialize in a variety of areas. Some of us are plant oriented and others specialize in the world of soils.
